Who gets up at 4:00 am on a Sunday morning? Landscape photographers!
This Sunday I shot a city skyline shot of my beloved Austin, looking north along the famed South Congress Ave. After we scouted a few different places along the street, we finally settled on the one without the visible traffic lights. Luckily, we settled in just about the time the sun began to rise and the sky turned a warm red that served as a beautiful backdrop to the Capitol Building. Even though many of the lights in the skyline were not lit at that early hour, I think the shot came out very well.
You can follow my partners in crime and see their shots through Instagram at @coznlinda and @pluto911. There is even a video of our shoot.
Takeaways from the shoot: Don't forget to pack all of your lenses! I left my 75-300 at home, but luckily one of my shooting buddies let me borrow his lens for a few shots. Unfortunately, it inspired me to bite the bullet and order a better quality 75-200 when I got home, which arrives on Thursday!!!!
Non-photography takeaways from the shoot: Magnolia cafe actually has customers at 6:45 am on a Sunday. And there is no waiting for a table.
